Prez Paudel extends Tihar greetings, calls for unity and good governance

President Ramchandra Paudel has expressed his hope that the festival of Tihar will inspire all Nepalis to uphold the values of mutual goodwill, tolerance, brotherhood, good governance, and prosperity.
In his message issued today on the occasion of Tihar, the President extended his best wishes for happiness, peace, progress, and prosperity to all Nepali brothers and sisters both at home and abroad.
'Nepal is a nation rich in diverse and unique cultures. Our various festivals have long served as unifying threads that bind together our diversity. Among these, Tihar stands as one of the greatest Hindu festivals, fostering harmony among different ethnic, linguistic, and cultural communities,' President Paudel stated in his message.
He further noted that Tihar is also a festival of light, embodying cultural, historical, practical, psychological, and scientific significance.
The President expressed his belief that this festival should inspire everyone to walk the path of truth, justice, and social good governance, as reflected through the diverse cultural practices observed during Tihar.
Highlighting its deeper meanings, President Paudel said that rituals such as Bhai Tika, Mha Puja, and other worship ceremonies convey enduring messages of love, social unity, compassion, and the triumph of light over darkness.
