KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 16
The Embassy of Pakistan in Nepal hosted its Annual Alumni Get-Together Gala at Soaltee Kathmandu, bringing together nearly 450 Nepali graduates of Pakistani institutions, dignitaries, and friends of Pakistan for an evening of reunion and cultural exchange.
Attendees included alumni who studied in Pakistan under various government scholarship programmes as well as those who pursued education on self-financing schemes. The event provided a platform for reconnection, shared memories, and reaffirmation of longstanding ties between the peoples of Nepal and Pakistan.
Speaking at the programme, Pakistan's Ambassador to Nepal, Abrar H. Hashmi, said such gatherings serve as an important platform to promote mutual understanding between the two nations. He noted that many Nepali alumni carry fond memories of Pakistan's culture, cuisine and hospitality, which have helped foster lasting goodwill.
The Ambassador highlighted that more than 4,000 Nepalis who graduated from Pakistani educational institutions are now contributing significantly to Nepal's development and the global diaspora.
Participants welcomed the Embassy's efforts to further expand the alumni network and expressed their commitment to deepening cultural, educational, and people-to-people engagement between the two countries. Alumni emphasised the need for continued cooperation in areas such as IT, artificial intelligence, medical innovation and other emerging fields.
The programme's key highlight was the announcement of the Pakistan–Nepal Alumni Network, which received enthusiastic support from participants.
