Mustang potato production surges to Rs 628 million
District harvests record crop with improved yields and prices

MUSTANG, NOVEMBER 25
Mustang district produced potatoes valued at Rs 628 million in the current fiscal year, marking significant growth in both production volume and market value, according to the Agriculture Knowledge Center Office, Mustang.
The five local levels in the district harvested 9,665 metric tonnes of potatoes from 478 hectares of farmland in fiscal year 2082/83 BS, an increase from 8,496 metric tonnes produced across 460 hectares in the previous year.
The productivity of potatoes reached 20.22 metric tonnes per hectare this year, with farmers cultivating an additional 18 hectares compared to the last fiscal year.
The improved output resulted in a value increase of Rs 118.4 million, according to the center.
Farmers benefited from higher market prices, receiving an average of Rs 65 per kilogram this year-Rs 5 more per kilogram than the previous year, reflecting improved market conditions in Mustang district.
