KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 26 Newly appointed Chief Secretary of the government, Suman Raj Aryal, has pledged to uphold the civil service as a pillar of good governance, effective public service delivery, development initiatives, and overall institutional transformation, while enhancing its dignity. Assuming office today, Aryal stated that his foremost goal is to maintain national pride and dignity while promoting citizen satisfaction. Describing the position as a significant responsibility during challenging times, Aryal vowed to serve selflessly for the broader interests of the nation and its people, with a complete sense of duty. He further added that his knowledge, experience, and capabilities would be fully dedicated to making public service prompt and citizen-friendly, as well as ensuring that administrative mechanisms are development-oriented and results-driven. Secretary Aryal was appointed Chief Secretary during a cabinet meeting of the Council of Ministers on Monday.
