KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 30 Kathmandu Gorkhas romped to a five-wicket victory over Karnali Yaks to inch closer to a play-off berth in the ongoing Siddhartha Bank Nepal Premier League 2025 at the TU Cricket Stadium in Kathmandu today. With this win, the Gorkhas climbed to second position with eight points from six matches - four wins and two losses - level with Biratnagar but ahead on superior net run rate. Table-toppers Sudurpaschim, with 10 points from five games, have already secured their play-off spot. Chasing 150 after losing the toss, the Gorkhas cruised to a comfortable five-wicket win with 12 balls to spare. Earlier, the Yaks posted a competitive total, thanks to a whirlwind unbeaten 49 off 22 balls by Gulsan Jha, who smashed six fours and three sixes. Gerhard Erasmus and John Simpson then stitched together an 86-run fourth-wicket stand to anchor the Gorkhas' chase. Simpson produced an aggressive 41 off just 21 balls, hitting four boundaries and two sixes. Erasmus was later named Player of the Match for his unbeaten 43 off 33 balls, which included two fours and two sixes. In the next fixtures on Tuesday, December 2, Chitwan Rhinos face Janakpur Bolts, while in the later match Karnali Yaks take on Pokhara Avengers under lights at the same TU Cricket Stadium.
