KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 4 The Narayanghat–Butwal four-lane road project has achieved 76 per cent physical progress along the 65-kilometre stretch, according to the Narayanghat–Butwal Road Project (Eastern Section) Office. Project Information Officer Shiva Khanal said construction works have gathered momentum in recent months, with the team aiming to complete the project within the revised timeline. The deadline has been extended for the fourth time, and as per the latest extension, the project must be completed by the end of the current fiscal year. Khanal added that officials and workers are engaged intensively across all sections of the corridor. He stated that the blacktopping of Jayashree Bridge in Gaindakot, Arunkhola Bridge, Dumkibas Bridge and Chormara Bridge is still pending, while blacktopping in the remaining sections-from Gaindakot to Daunne-has been completed. Blacktopping works in other areas are progressing rapidly as well, he said. The bridges, however, are not yet operational for vehicular movement as the connecting link roads are still under construction. Similarly, culvert construction in the Daunne area has reached its final stage and is expected to be completed within the next four and a half months.
