Cabinet endorses agreement signed with Gen-Z representatives

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 11 A meeting of the Council of Ministers held today approved and decided to implement the 10-point agreement signed between the government and Gen Z representatives on Wednesday. The pact was signed on December 10 at the Office of the Prime Minister, Singha Durbar. The cabinet also decided to publish the agreement in the Nepal Gazette, confirmed Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel. Prime Minister Sushila Karki and Bhoj Bikram Thapa, representing those who were martyred or injured during the Gen Z movement, signed the agreement. Minister Kharel further stated that the Council of Ministers has decided to expand the mandate of the Investigation Commission formed by the government to probe the incidents of the Gen Z movement on September 8 and 9. When asked about the involvement of then-Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in providing his statement to the Probe Commission, Minister Kharel clarified that the commission's jurisdiction has been broadened and it will carry out its work in accordance with the law.
