Elderly man killed, two injured in Rautahat road collision

RAUTAHAT, DECEMBER 12 An elderly man died, and two others were injured after a truck and a car collided on the East-West Highway in Chandrapur Municipality-4, Rautahat, on Friday morning. According to the Chandrapur Area Police Office, the accident occurred when a Bagmati Province-registered truck (03-001 Kha 1148) and a car (Ba 3 Cha 6193) collided during an overtaking maneuver. The incident claimed the life of 79-year-old Bhaktabahadur Khatri of Nijgadh Municipality–Sigau, Bara. Car driver Dinesh Thapaliya and passenger Dormani Sapkota were injured and are receiving treatment, said DSP Rupa Labung. The truck driver, 53-year-old Shyambahadur Titung from Hetauda-7, Makwanpur, has been taken into police custody as the investigation continues.
