KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 24 IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Club Chaulani Ltd to develop a 115-room Holiday Inn hotel in Dhangadhi, marking the global hospitality group's first presence in Nepal's Sudurpashchim Province. Scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2028, the hotel will be located in central Dhangadhi within a mixed-use development, around 8.5 kilometres from Dhangadhi Airport and close to the India–Nepal border. The hotel is expected to cater to business travellers, government officials, transit passengers, and leisure tourists visiting nearby attractions such as Shuklaphanta National Park and Ghodaghodi Lake. Planned facilities include four food and beverage outlets, meeting and event spaces, a ballroom, a fitness centre, and a swimming pool. IHG South West Asia Managing Director Sudeep Jain said Dhangadhi represents a high-potential hospitality market driven by infrastructure growth, cross-border trade, and rising domestic travel. Club Chaulani Chairman Dr Rajendra KC said the project would help meet growing demand for branded accommodation in western Nepal. The signing expands IHG's South Asia footprint and adds to its existing portfolio of hotels operating across the region.
