Punam Chand shines as NPC beat TAC to reach final of 9th NVA Volleyball Championship

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 2 Punam Chand rose to the occasion as Nepal Police Club (NPC) defeated Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) to secure a place in the final of the 9th NVA Volleyball Championship in Kathmandu. NPC registered a 3–1 set victory over TAC, setting up a mouth-watering final clash with New Diamond Sports Club on Saturday at the Tripureshwor-based Covered Hall. Defending champions NPC dominated the opening set 25–12 before narrowly conceding the second on a tie-break 29–31. The Police side then bounced back strongly to win the next two sets 25–14 and 25–18. Chand was named Player of the Match. Speaking at the post-match presentation, she credited the win to a collective team effort, expressing her happiness for the team and the fans, and said she was looking forward to delivering an even better performance in the final. She also urged supporters to continue backing the team, adding that their support would help the players put on a strong show in the title match. Earlier in the day, New Diamond Sports Club reached the final with a straight-sets victory over Armed Police Force (APF). New Diamond dominated the encounter, winning 25–17, 25–20, and 25–7.
