KATHMANDU, JANUARY 5 The Election Commission (EC) has appointed Chief Returning Officers and Returning Officers in all 77 districts to conduct the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives (HoR), scheduled for March 5. According to the EC, district judges have been appointed as Chief Returning Officers in line with Clause 8 of the House of Representatives Act, 2074 BS, while second-class judicial service officers have been designated as Returning Officers based on recommendations from the Judicial Service Commission. The appointments will take effect on January 9, and officials have been instructed to report to their respective constituencies as of January 16. The EC has also directed the immediate establishment and operation of election offices in the districts to carry out election-related programmes.
