KATHMANDU, JANUARY 5 The Embassy of Nepal in London has urged Nepali citizens to remain alert amid a rise in fraud cases involving fake UK work permit offers. In a press statement, the embassy said it has received multiple complaints related to job sponsorship scams, with victims including Nepalis seeking to travel to the UK from Nepal as well as those already residing there. The embassy advised victims to lodge complaints with local police units or the UK's National Anti-Fraud Network (Action Fraud), as well as relevant investigation agencies in Nepal. Such offences are punishable under the laws of both countries, it said.
