KATHMANDU, JANUARY 5 President Ramchandra Paudel has said that the arrival of the ICC T20 World Cup trophy in Nepal is a moment of pride for the nation. Speaking at the World Cup trophy unveiling ceremony held at the Rastrapati Bhawan in Sheetal Niwas on Tuesday, the President said the historic occasion has conveyed a message that Nepal is steadily moving towards the centre of world cricket. 'Cricket has played an important role in uniting the country, and with its professional development, the foundation for building a bright future for Nepali youth through sport is becoming stronger,' he said. President Paudel expressed gratitude to the International Cricket Council for bringing the World Cup trophy to Nepal, noting that the visit has significantly boosted enthusiasm among Nepali cricket fans. He also extended his best wishes to the women's and men's national cricket teams participating in the Women's World Cup Qualifiers to be held in Nepal and the T20 World Cup to be hosted in India and Sri Lanka respectively.
