KATHMANDU, JANUARY 8 A delegation of the World Hindu Federation, led by its Chairperson Asmita Bhandari, met with Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal. During the meeting at the Ministry, Singha Durbar, on Thursday, the delegation drew the Home Minister's attention to the importance of maintaining peace and security in religious areas. Minister Aryal responded that any activities promoting religious unrest should not be allowed in the country, and appropriate action would be taken against those involved in such activities, according to the Minister's Secretariat. He emphasized that religious organizations play a vital role in upholding religious tolerance, social harmony, and law and order by fostering respect for one another's faiths. He also requested the Federation's support in combating religious intolerance and the spread of misleading information on social media. Minister Aryal underscored that creating awareness against false and misleading news is a prerequisite for preserving social and religious harmony.
