Israeli ambassador calls on PM Karki

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 12 Israeli Ambassador to Nepal, Shmulik Arie Bass, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sushila Karki today. During the meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar, Ambassador Bass congratulated Prime Minister Karki on making history as Nepal's first female Chief Justice and first female Prime Minister, extending his best wishes for a successful tenure. According to the Prime Minister's Secretariat, Prime Minister Karki expressed her gratitude and delight on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Israel. She emphasized the need for continued joint efforts from both nations to elevate their longstanding friendship to new heights. Ambassador Bass acknowledged the cordial and longstanding ties between the two countries and reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation. He also expressed his appreciation to the Government of Nepal for the recent ratification of the labour agreement and its implementation protocols, noting that the framework formally opens legal avenues for employment opportunities for Nepali workers in Israel. The Prime Minister thanked the Government of Israel for facilitating job opportunities for Nepali citizens and highlighted that the present government is primarily focused on the upcoming House of Representatives election, reiterating its commitment to ensuring that the election is conducted peacefully and efficiently. Both sides also underscored the importance of initiating additional significant activities to suitably commemorate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Israel.
