Mahindra launches BE 6 and XEV 9e electric SUVs in Hetauda

HETAUDA, JANUARY 20 Agni Incorporated Pvt. Ltd., the authorised distributor of Mahindra automobiles in Nepal, unveiled the two electric SUVs-BE 6 and XEV 9e- at its Mahindra showroom in Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City–7, Neureni. Built on Mahindra's INGLO electric architecture and powered by the MAIA artificial intelligence platform, the vehicles are positioned as next-generation electric SUVs designed for performance, intelligence and sustainability. The BE 6 and XEV 9e were first introduced to the Nepali market during the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo in August 2025. Since then, the models have generated strong interest among consumers, with the XEV 9e recently receiving the Green Car of the Year 2026 award at the Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) awards. According to Agni Group, the Hetauda launch reflects a strategic effort to expand electric vehicle adoption beyond Kathmandu Valley. 'The transition to electric mobility is vital for Nepal's sustainable development and energy independence. Regional launches such as this demonstrate how advanced technology and responsible mobility can generate long-term environmental and economic benefits,' the company said in a statement. Speaking at the event, FNCCI Makwanpur President Pramod Singh Ranabhat said the BE 6 and XEV 9e represent Mahindra's evolving electric vision, combining performance, intelligent systems and emotional design. Traffic Police Inspector Bachu Ram Phuyal highlighted the suitability of the vehicles for Nepal's road conditions, citing their safety systems and driver-assist technologies. The BE 6 offers a sportier design and is aimed at adventure-oriented drivers, while the XEV 9e features a more refined SUV coupe profile. Both models come equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), immersive digital cockpits, smart parking features and long-range battery options, with certified ranges of up to 656 kilometres. Prices start at Rs 57 lakh for the BE 6 and Rs 69 lakh for the XEV 9e. Bookings for all variants are now open across Nepal.
