HoR election: PM Karki expresses gratitude to parties, candidates

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 20 Prime Minister Sushila Karki has expressed heartfelt gratitude to all political parties and candidates for enthusiastically filing their candidacies for the March 5 House of Representatives (HoR) election. The parties submitted their nominations within the stipulated timeframe. 'This is a significant milestone for the upcoming HoR election. I would like to remind everyone that the government is committed to conducting the election in a free, fair, and peaceful environment. There will be no compromise on security. All security agencies are operating with utmost professionalism and vigilance,' PM Karki stated. According to her, the registration of over 3,400 candidates for the first-past-the-post category reflects both trust in democracy and the urgency to strengthen democratic institutions. She added that the election process has energized politics and the private sector alike, helping to dispel uncertainty. The entire country is now engrossed in the 'mahakumbha' of the election. PM Karki also thanked the Election Commission and its staff for managing the election schedule and candidacy registration efficiently. She expressed hope for continued cooperation from political parties, civil society, and the media to ensure the success of this democratic exercise. Finally, the Prime Minister appealed to all Nepali citizens to participate actively in the HoR election to promote sustainable democracy and political stability.
