ICC Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier: Nepal outplays Zimbabwe for first win

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 24 Nepal secured their first victory in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier with a six-wicket win over Zimbabwe at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Saturday. Chasing a target of 130 runs, Nepal reached the total in 19.3 overs, losing four wickets. Puja Mahato anchored the chase with a half-century, scoring 52 off 50 balls, including four fours and two sixes. Captain Indu Barma contributed 22 runs, while Bindu Rawal added 15 and Sita Rana Magar chipped in with 11. For Zimbabwe, Josephine Nkomo claimed two wickets, while Christabel Chatonzwa and Nombelo Sibanda took one wicket each. The win keeps Nepal's qualification hopes alive in the global tournament.
