Joint Election Operation Centre begins operations

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 26 With 38 days remaining for the House of Representatives (HoR) elections, the Election Commission (EC) has brought the Joint Election Operation Centre into operation to address election-related issues promptly. The Centre, based at the EC premises in Kathmandu, was inaugurated on Sunday by Officiating Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari. Inaugurating the Centre, Bhandari said it would immediately intervene to resolve issues arising in constituencies if they are not settled at the concerned polling centres. The Centre will be led by an EC Secretary and will include a Joint Secretary from the Ministry of Home Affairs and representatives from security agencies. According to the EC, the Centre will collect information, analyse situations, and take swift decisions to ensure the smooth conduct of the election process.
