EC sends sample ballot papers to districts for voter education

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 28 Sample ballot papers intended for voter education ahead of the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5 have been distributed to all districts, according to the Election Commission (EC). A total of 1,098,200 sample ballot papers have been printed and delivered nationwide for voter awareness programs, said EC Joint Secretary and Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai. He further stated that the printing of ballot papers for the first-past-the-post (FPTP) election in Humla, Kalikot, Jumla, Mugu, and Dolpa districts has been completed. Meanwhile, the printing of ballot papers for the remaining districts is progressing in phases, the EC reported. Spokesperson Bhattarai added that the Commission plans to dispatch ballot papers to all 165 constituencies between February 8 and 17. In addition, the EC confirmed that the printing of more than 20 million ballot papers for the proportional representation election has already been completed.
