KATHMANDU, JANUARY 29 The Election Commission (EC) will use locally produced materials for the upcoming House of Representatives election on March 5. The move aims to make the election more economical, transparent, and supportive of domestic products. A total of 51 types of materials will be used, with 37 currently being procured from provinces and districts in a decentralized manner, EC spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said. The remaining 14 are purchased centrally, with Salt Trading Company handling most of the procurement. Only new materials worth Rs 67.5 million have been bought, while other items are being reused.
