Fog in Terai, light snowfall possible in high hills

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 4 Fog and mist are likely in parts of the Terai region today, while high hilly and Himalayan areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces will remain generally cloudy, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD). There is a possibility of light rain or snowfall at one or two places in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of these provinces. Other parts of the country will be partly cloudy. Tonight, mist is likely to occur at a few places in the Terai. The high hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi and Gandaki Provinces may witness light snowfall at isolated locations, while the rest of the country will experience mainly fair weather. The weather system is influenced by a partial western low-pressure system. Meanwhile, Kathmandu Valley is expected to experience partly cloudy conditions this afternoon, with maximum temperatures ranging between 19°C and 21°C. The weather will remain mainly fair tonight, with minimum temperatures likely to fall between 5°C and 7°C. In Jomsom, the daytime weather will be generally cloudy, with temperatures hovering between 11°C and 13°C. At night, the sky will turn partly cloudy, while temperatures are forecast to drop to between -2°C and 0°C. Similarly, Jumla will see generally cloudy conditions during the day, with maximum temperatures ranging from 12°C to 14°C. The weather is expected to remain mainly fair at night, with minimum temperatures dipping to between -3°C and -1°C.
