Gold up Rs 14,400 per tola, silver gains Rs 265

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 4 Gold price in the domestic market rebounded strongly on Wednesday after days of decline, rising by Rs 14,400 per tola. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, fine gold is being traded at Rs 304,700 per tola today, up from Rs 290,300 per tola on Tuesday. Silver price also increased on Wednesday. Silver rose by Rs 265 per tola to Rs 5,600, compared to Rs 5,335 per tola the previous day. Despite the rebound, gold prices remain well below the historic high of Rs 339,300 per tola recorded last week, after a period of extreme volatility driven by fluctuations in the international market, profit-booking, and shifting domestic demand.
