KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 4 Prime Minister Sushila Karki has initiated efforts to address growing public concerns related to the health insurance scheme. According to the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, a meeting with concerned stakeholders has been called this afternoon to discuss the issue. Several hospitals across the country have halted services under the health insurance scheme, citing non-payment of long-pending dues by the Health Insurance Board. Service providers say they have not received reimbursements for a long time, making it difficult to continue insured services. The Health Insurance Board has stated that over Rs 10 billion remains unpaid to listed health institutions nationwide.
