President Paudel receives Brigade of Gurkhas annual report

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 10 President Ram Chandra Paudel received the annual report of the Brigade of Gurkhas from Major General Gerald M Strickland, Colonel Commandant of the Brigade of Gurkhas, at the Office of the President, Shital Niwas, on Monday. During the program, President Paudel said Nepal and the United Kingdom share common views on global peace and cooperate closely through the United Nations peacekeeping framework. He expressed appreciation for the UK's continued support as a key development partner and noted that the presence of Nepalis in the UK has strengthened people-to-people ties. He also stated that relevant issues would be resolved through diplomatic and bilateral mechanisms and assured that concerned bodies would study the submitted report.
Similarly, Major General Strickland praised the Gurkhas for their professionalism and dedication, noting that British society holds deep respect for Nepali Gurkha soldiers. British Ambassador to Nepal Rob Fenn, along with senior British Gurkha officials, was present during the submission.
