KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 10 Coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', has said that his party is committed to amending the Constitution in line with the aspirations of Generation Z and the spirit of past movements. Making public a brief election manifesto ahead of the March 5 House of Representatives election on Tuesday, Dahal reiterated that both the system of governance and the electoral framework would be reviewed. 'A decade has passed since the promulgation of the Constitution, which itself provides for review and revision after 10 years. Therefore, the party has placed special emphasis on this issue in the manifesto,' he said. Dahal added that good governance, corruption control, and transparency would remain the party's top priorities. Other key agendas include building a self-reliant economy, environmental conservation, disaster management, establishing socialism based on Nepali characteristics, safeguarding and promoting national interests, and maintaining smooth foreign relations. The NCP has also set ambitious economic targets, aiming to achieve 10 percent economic growth over the next five years, reduce multidimensional poverty to 10 percent, create 500,000 regular jobs, and provide entrepreneurial opportunities to 100,000 returnee migrants. Within a year, farmers will be issued identity cards, the next decade will be declared an agriculture investment decade, and the country will be made self-reliant in paddy, milk, meat, and vegetables, Dahal said while outlining the party's commitments.
