Kathmandu Toastmasters Club proudly marked its 35th anniversary, celebrating '35 Years, Countless Stories', a remarkable journey of empowering individuals to become confident communicators and effective leaders. As the first Toastmasters club in Nepal and the oldest club in District 41, this milestone reflects not only longevity but also a powerful legacy of leadership, learning, and transformation. This milestone also represents the strong standing of Kathmandu Toastmasters Club in District 41. As Toastmasters International founder Dr. Ralph C. Smedley had wisely said, 'We learn best in moments of enjoyment, for 35 years, Kathmandu Toastmasters Club has embodied this philosophy, creating an environment where learning is not only structured but joyful, supportive, and transformative. The grand celebration was held at Fairfield by Marriott, with an enthusiastic gathering of over 80 attendees, making the evening truly memorable and inspiring. The program began with warmth and excitement as President, Toastmaster Namita Thapa delivered the welcome speech, warmly greeting and welcoming everyone on behalf of all members of Kathmandu Toastmasters Club. The evening was beautifully hosted by Toastmaster Santosh Tulachan and Toastmaster Aditi Koirala, who set the perfect tone by starting the program with the iconic 35-year-old song 'Mohani Lagla Hai...', bringing nostalgia and joy to the celebration. The milestone celebration was further honored by the gracious presence of District 41 Director Toastmaster Gaurav Chaudhary, Club Growth Director DTM Diptee Acharya, and our distinguished keynote speakers: DTM Ranjit Acharya, DTM Suman Shakya, DTM Moon Pradhan, and DTM Shaurab Lohani, whose insights and experiences inspired everyone present. Their encouragement, guidance, and shared experiences underscored Kathmandu Toastmasters Club's long-standing contribution to the growth and sustainability of Toastmasters in Nepal and the wider region. Founded on the belief that communication transforms lives, Kathmandu Toastmasters has, over the years, provided a safe and encouraging platform where members learn by doing. From first speeches delivered with trembling hands to polished presentations on district and international stages, the club has been a platform for personal and professional growth. Over these 35 years, the club has nurtured hundreds of members from diverse backgrounds, professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders, each bringing their own story to the collective journey. Through structured meetings, constructive evaluations, and leadership opportunities, members have developed skills that extend far beyond the meeting room: confidence, critical thinking, empathy, and the ability to lead with clarity and purpose. Kathmandu Toastmasters has also played an important role in strengthening the broader Toastmasters community. Many of its members have gone on to serve as area, division, and district leaders, contributing their experience and mentorship to the success of other clubs. The club's achievements in leadership development, speech contests, and member education reflect its dedication to excellence. As the city of Kathmandu blends tradition with modern aspirations, the club has evolved alongside it, embracing innovation while remaining rooted in Toastmasters' core values of integrity, respect, service, and excellence. This anniversary was also a moment of gratitude. The club honored its charter members, past presidents, mentors, supporters, and all those who contributed to this milestone. Their leadership ensured continuity and a culture where learning thrives. As Helen Keller once said, 'Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.', the club's 35-year journey stands as proof of collective dedication and shared vision. Looking ahead, Kathmandu Toastmasters Club remains committed to nurturing emerging voices, fostering inclusivity, and equipping members with communication and leadership skills needed in an ever-changing world. Thirty-five years is not merely a measure of time; it is a testament to consistency, commitment, and community. And behind every milestone, there are countless stories of courage, growth, and inspiration. With continued growth and strong fellowship, Kathmandu Toastmasters Club looks forward to writing many more stories in the years to come. Here's to 35 years, countless stories; to 35 years of continued legacy, and an even brighter, stronger future ahead.
