Gold drops by Rs 1,100 per tola; Silver edges up

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 12 Gold price declined sharply in the domestic market on Thursday, falling by Rs 1,100 per tola compared to Wednesday. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, fine gold is being traded at Rs 305,500 per tola, down from Rs 306,600 per tola a day earlier. In contrast, silver posted a modest gain. The white metal is being traded at Rs 5,340 per tola, up by Rs 50 from Wednesday's rate of Rs 5,290 per tola. On Wednesday, gold had increased by Rs 1,100 per tola from Tuesday's price of Rs 305,500, while silver had risen by Rs 50 per tola from Rs 5,240.
