T20 World Cup: Nepal suffer humiliating 10-wicket loss to Italy

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 12 Nepal suffered a humiliating 10-wicket defeat at the hands of Italy in their ICC Men's T20 World Cup match held today at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, India. Chasing a modest target of 124 runs, Italy completed the task emphatically in just 12.4 overs without losing a wicket. Anthony Mosca starred with an unbeaten 62, while Justin Mosca supported him with a fluent 60. Earlier, after losing the toss and being put in to bat, Nepal were bowled out for 123 runs in 19.3 overs. Aarif Sheikh top-scored with 27, followed by Rohit Paudel (23), Aasif Sheikh (20), Karan KC (18 not out), and Dipendra Singh Airee (17). Italy's bowling attack was led by Crishan Kalugamage, who claimed three wickets, while Ben Manenti picked up two. Jaspreet Singh and JJ Smuts chipped in with one wicket apiece. This marked Nepal's second consecutive defeat in Group C, significantly denting their chances of advancing to the Super Eight stage. Nepal will next face the West Indies at the same venue on February 15, before concluding their group campaign against Scotland at the Wankhede Stadium two days later.
