KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 16 Mahendra Jyoti Ex-Students' Forum, Faraak, won the 15th Khumbu Lhosar Cup–2026 Football Tournament, defeating Namche Youth Club 4–1 in the final at the ANFA Complex on Sunday. Organised on the occasion of the Sherpa community's Lhosar festival, the tournament featured eight teams representing youths originally from Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality of Solukhumbu and currently residing in Kathmandu. Namche Youth Club finished as runners-up, while Khumjung Youth Club secured third place. The champions received a trophy, medals, certificates and Rs 150,000 in cash. The runners-up were awarded Rs 80,000, while the third-placed team received Rs 40,000. National footballer Priti Rai was also felicitated with Rs 50,000 and a certificate in recognition of her achievements. The tournament began on Magh 24 and concluded after 16 matches. Participating teams included Khunde Community Club, Thamichhowa Football Club of Thame, Ama Dablam Youth Group of Pangboche, Khumbu Yambu Sherpa Society and Khumbu United, among others. The 15th edition was organised by Mahendra Jyoti Ex-Students' Forum, Faraak. The main sponsor was 14 Peaks Expedition Pvt. Ltd., with co-sponsors Heli Everest Pvt. Ltd. and Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality.
