Four arrested with brown sugar in Rautahat

RAUTAHAT, FEBRUARY 16 Rautahat Police have arrested four individuals from Chandranigahpur on charges of involvement in the illegal trade of brown sugar. Acting on a tip-off, a special operation was conducted in Chandrapur Municipality–4. During a body search of 32-year-old Tul Bahadur Lama of Chandrapur–1, Bagmati, police recovered materials used for consuming brown sugar from his jeans pocket. Based on information obtained during preliminary interrogation, police detained 23-year-old Priya Tamang of Gaighat, Udayapur, who was residing at the house of Durga Bahadur Ghale in Ganesh Chowk, and 35-year-old Raj Balam Pakhrin Magar of Chandrapur–4, said DSP Rupa Labung, chief of the Area Police Office, Chandrapur. Police also recovered a weighing machine for measuring brown sugar and pieces of black plastic from the rented room. Later in the evening, 29-year-old Prashant Tamang was arrested from Chandrapur–1, with 240 milligrams of brown sugar-like substance recovered from his room. Police confirmed that all four suspects are under investigation under the Narcotic Drugs Control Act, and surveillance and operations in Chandrapur have been intensified to curb drug-related activities.
