Woman found murdered in Rautahat; husband absconding

RAUTAHAT, FEBRUARY 16 A woman was found murdered in Petbharwa village, Fatuwa Bijaypur Municipality of Rautahat, on Sunday Police said 28-year-old Aarti Devi Yadav, wife of 42-year-old Mahanth Rai Yadav, was discovered lying on a bed with her throat slit by a sharp weapon at around 11:50 am on Sunday. Responding to a tip-off, a police team from Santapur Dostiya, under the command of a sub-inspector, reached the house and confirmed the murder. DSP Bishnu Pradip Basyal, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Rautahat, said blood was found beside the bed, raising suspicion of homicide. The victim's husband, Mahanth Rai Yadav, is currently absconding. Police are intensifying the search and preliminary investigations suggest he may be responsible for the killing. The body has been sent to the Provincial Hospital in Gaur for post-mortem examination.
