Kathmandu: In its drive to clean-up the organisation of crooked officials, Nepal Police (NP) Headquarters has taken action against 127 police personnel, including a DSP, two Inspectors, SI and ASI, who were found guilty of indulging in activities that are inconsistent with the Nepal Police Act. The number of police officials facing the music of the Nepal Police has increased from 100 (November-December, 2009) to 127 (December -January 2010), according to DIG Bigyan Raj Sharma, spokesperson, Nepal Police Headquarters. Sharma said they were found guilty of indulging in anti-police conduct during the period. The public have long been complaining of alleged corruption in the Nepal Police and poor handling of criminal activities.
