KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 27 The District Administration Office Kathmandu has issued a renewed notice directing individuals to deposit their licensed firearms at the nearest police office in view of the upcoming House of Representatives election. The office stated that despite an earlier public notice issued on Magh 6 requesting submission of legally held arms for election security purposes, some individuals have yet to comply. The DAO has now set Falgun 18 as the final deadline for depositing such weapons at the nearest police unit where they will be recorded and stored until further notice. The administration said the measure has been taken to strengthen security arrangements during the election period and urged all concerned to comply within the stipulated timeframe.
