Nepal expresses concern over evolving Middle East situation

KATHMANDU, MARCH 1 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed deep concern over the evolving situation in the Middle East, stating that Nepal is closely monitoring developments in the region. In a press statement issued on Sunday, the government urged all parties concerned to exercise maximum restraint, avoid further escalation, and ensure the protection of civilians. Nepal called for resolving differences through diplomacy and dialogue, emphasizing the importance of peaceful means in addressing tensions. The government also stressed that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all states must be respected in accordance with the UN Charter and international law. It underscored the need to uphold the rules-based international order and the collective responsibility of maintaining international peace and security.
