RAUTAHAT, MARCH 1 The Nepali Army has stepped up security arrangements in Rautahat and across Madhesh Province to ensure peaceful, free and fear-free voting in the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5. Security measures have been placed on high alert to enable voters to cast ballots safely and without intimidation. The army said special security arrangements have been implemented at polling stations and centers. On Saturday, a special unit intensified patrols and surveillance activities across Rautahat district. According to Colonel Bishwas Bista, commanding officer of Narayan Dal Battalion, the army has been deployed round-the-clock to ensure the election is conducted in a dignified and orderly manner. He stated that security agencies are maintaining strict vigilance and will identify and take action under the Election Act against anyone attempting to engage in unlawful activities. Coordination among security bodies has been strengthened in sensitive areas of Madhesh Province, and special monitoring will continue throughout the voting period. Local residents said heightened security presence has boosted voter confidence as the election date approaches.
