Balen Shah takes early lead in Jhapa-5

KATHMANDU, MARCH 6 Balen Shah of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has taken an early lead in the vote count for the House of Representatives seat from Jhapa-5, according to initial counting results. Preliminary figures show Shah securing 1,478 votes, while K. P. Sharma Oli, chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) (CPN-UML), has received 384 votes. With these early results, Shah is currently ahead by 1,094 votes. However, the figures represent only the initial phase of vote counting, and the margin may change as counting continues in other polling stations. The vote counting is part of the ongoing Nepal Election 2082 to elect members of the federal parliament.
