UPDATE: RSP wins 34 seats, leads in 85 as HoR vote count nears completion

KATHMANDU, MARCH 7 The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has secured 34 seats and is leading in 85 constituencies in the ongoing vote count for the House of Representatives elections, according to the latest update from the Election Commission of Nepal. The Commission's tally from 161 of the 165 constituencies shows the Nepali Congress has won five seats and is leading in 11 constituencies, while the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) has won two seats and is ahead in eight constituencies. Similarly, the Nepal Communist Party has won one seat and is leading in eight constituencies. Among other parties, the Shram Sanskriti Party is leading in five constituencies, while the Rastriya Prajatantra Party is leading in one constituency. An independent candidate, Mahabir Pun, has also won one seat and another is leading in another constituency, according to the Commission.
