Zonta Club Kathmandu honours women leaders on Yellow Rose Day

KATHMANDU, MARCH 9 Zonta Club Kathmandu marked International Women's Day by celebrating Yellow Rose Day 2026, honouring women leaders, community champions and young scholars promoting opportunities for women and girls in Nepal. The event was attended by Ruwanthi Delpitiya, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Nepal, as chief guest. During the programme, several awards and scholarships were presented, including the Princess Helen Shah Inspirational Award to Renu Adhikari Rajbhandari and the Amar Rana Game Changer Award to Shilsila Acharya. Scholarships were also awarded to individuals including Manu Karki, Sadhana Panthi, Lubina Sharma and Susmina Thapaliya. The programme additionally recognised 'Unsung Heroes' for their community contributions, including Mala Kharel, Balkumari Giri, Puja Basnet and Kalpana Maharjan. Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited served as the title partner of the event, supported by DishHome Internet, IEC College of Art & Fashion and Nimbus Bazaar. Yellow Rose Day is an annual initiative organised by Zonta clubs worldwide to recognise individuals contributing to women's empowerment and gender equality.
