PR vote count reaches 8.58 million; RSP crosses 4.1 million

KATHMANDU, MARCH 9 The Election Commission Nepal has counted 8,585,514 votes so far under the proportional representation (PR) system of the House of Representatives election held on March 5. According to the latest results, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is leading the tally with 4,149,012 votes. The Nepali Congress has secured 1,389,165 votes, followed by the CPN-UML with 1,172,315 votes. Similarly, the Nepal Communist Party has received 608,858 votes, the Shram Sanskriti Party 299,496 votes, and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party 281,935 votes. Among other parties, the Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal has secured 131,829 votes, the Rastriya Parivartan Party 125,571 votes, and the Janamat Party 59,073 votes. Vote counting is still underway.
