PR Members of Parliament to Be Formally Recognized Thursday

KATHMANDU, MARCH 17 The 110 members of parliament (MPs) elected through proportional representation (PR) in the March 5 House of Representatives election will be formally recognized on Thursday. Assistant Spokesperson of the Election Commission, Kul Bahadur GC, stated that certificates will be distributed to the MPs according to the clusters prescribed by law. Among the 110 MPs, 57 have been elected from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) through the proportional representation system, 20 from the Nepali Congress, 16 from the CPN (UML), nine from the Nepali Communist Party, and four each from the Shram Sanskriti Party and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP). After the certificates are presented to the MPs elected through proportional representation on Thursday, the comprehensive report-including the results of the House of Representatives election, 2082-will be submitted to President Ramchandra Poudel on the same day, Assistant Spokesperson GC added. The submission of the report will pave the way for the President to initiate the process for forming a government in accordance with Article 76 (1) of the Constitution.
