KATHMANDU, MARCH 19 Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has resigned from his post on Wednesday, the party office confirmed. Thapa, who was unanimously elected during a special general convention in mid-January, stepped down following mounting pressure after his electoral defeat and the party's poor performance in the March 5 House of Representatives elections. The party has called a central working committee meeting for Friday.
