KATHMANDU, MARCH 21 Vehicular movement along the Narayangadh–Butwal road section has been disrupted after rainfall turned parts of the highway muddy and slippery. According to the District Police Office, Nawalparasi (Bardghat-Susta East), the Daunne stretch at Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality–2 has become hazardous, bringing traffic to a halt. Continuous rain since Friday afternoon has worsened road conditions, making even elevated sections difficult to traverse. Authorities said vehicles struggle to pass through the area even during light rainfall. The Narayangadh–Butwal Road Project said efforts are underway to restore smooth traffic flow, but ongoing rain continues to pose challenges. Meanwhile, the project has decided to ban the movement of large container vehicles along the highway from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am starting March 22, citing safety concerns during nighttime travel.
