KATHMANDU, MARCH 23 A dedicated desk has been brought into operation at Tribhuvan International Airport for foreign citizens of Nepali origin and non-resident Nepalis (NRNs) arriving in the country. The TIA Immigration Office has begun providing services through special desks set up in both the arrival and departure halls. According to Narahari Ghimire, Chief Immigration Officer at the TIA Immigration Office, separate desks had previously been arranged for NRNs; a dedicated desk has now been introduced specifically for foreign citizens of Nepali origin. This arrangement aims to further strengthen their connection with the Nepali language, culture, and homeland, while also promoting tourism and investment. As per the decision of the Department of Immigration on March 21, a separate queue and immigration desk have been established for foreign citizens of Nepali origin at both the arrival and departure points of the TIA Immigration Office, according to a press release issued by the Office today.
