15 arrested across the country for illegal drugs
Police seize heroin, brown sugar and controlled substances from multiple locations

KATHMANDU, MARCH 24 Police have arrested 15 individuals from various districts in Nepal in connection with illegal drugs, seizing heroin, brown sugar, and other controlled substances. In Morang, a 29-year-old Indian national, Masool Ansari, was apprehended from Biratnagar Metropolitan City-15 with 32 grams of a substance resembling brown heroin, according to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Biratnagar branch. In Sunsari, police arrested two men-26-year-old Khyam Bahadur Dewan Limbu and 27-year-old Shaurabh Katwal-from Inaruwa Municipality-4 with about 2.25 grams of a substance similar to brown sugar. The duo was intercepted while riding a scooter. In Kailali, 30-year-old Ranjit Chaudhary from Dhangadhi-8 was arrested with 580 mg of a brown sugar-like substance. In Siraha, 25-year-old Anil Chaudhary from Golbazar-4 was arrested with 1 gram of brown heroin. Subsequent investigation revealed that 33-year-old Baliram Mahato had supplied 10.25 grams of the same substance, leading to his arrest in Lahan Municipality-1. In Nawalparasi West, police seized controlled drugs including 1,700 ampoules of Buprenorphine, 910 ampoules of Diazepam, and 733 ampoules of Phenergan from two men, Sunil Kumar Yadav (26) and Jitendra Jaiswal (35), in Sunwal-12. A separate raid at the home of 49-year-old Luckychand Kewat in Ramgram-17 recovered additional controlled substances. In Surkhet, two men-36-year-old Harsha Singh Thakuri and 22-year-old Tula Nepali-were arrested in Birendranagar-10 with 2 grams of brown sugar-like substance. In Banke, 21-year-old Satya Narayan Tharu and another individual were arrested in Kohalpur-2 with 4.19 grams of brown sugar. In Rukum East, police arrested 24-year-old Sahas Pun and 25-year-old Sundar Roka from Bhume-2 with 740 mg of brown sugar. The Narcotics Control Bureau and local police units continue to investigate these cases.
