18 die of tuberculosis in Bajura over five years

Health officials call for stronger awareness and screening programmes

KATHMANDU, MARCH 25 At least 18 people have died of tuberculosis in Bajura district over the past five years, according to data released by the District Health Office on World Tuberculosis Day. The district recorded 141 TB cases in the last fiscal year, with 81 patients currently undergoing treatment. Badimalika Municipality reported the highest incidence rate. Health experts have stressed the need for intensified community-level awareness and screening, warning that TB remains a serious public health concern requiring sustained intervention.
