Gold rebounds sharply, jumps Rs 14,600 per tola
Precious metals reverse downward trend; silver surges by Rs 415

KATHMANDU, MARCH 25 Gold price rebounded strongly in the domestic market on Wednesday, rising by Rs 14,600 per tola and snapping a prolonged downward trend seen throughout the month of Chaitra. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, fine gold is being traded at Rs 288,500 per tola, up from Rs 273,900 per tola on Tuesday. Gold had been on a steady decline since the beginning of the month, when it was priced at Rs 309,400 per tola, before falling to Rs 273,900 on Tuesday. Silver price also recorded a notable increase, climbing by Rs 415 per tola. The metal is currently being traded at Rs 4,920 per tola, compared to Rs 4,505 per tola a day earlier. Silver had begun recovering on Tuesday with a modest gain of Rs 80 per tola, extending its upward movement with a sharper rise on Wednesday, the federation said.
