Writ petition related to RSP President to be heard on Sunday

KATHMANDU, MARCH 26 The hearing on the writ petition filed at the Supreme Court (SC) challenging the Attorney General's decision to revise and withdraw charges related to organized crime and money laundering against Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane will continue on Sunday. Supreme Court Spokesperson Arjun Prasad Koirala stated that the hearing was not concluded on Friday and would therefore resume on Sunday. The case is being heard by a division bench comprising Justice Binod Sharma and Justice Abdul Aziz Musalman. Earlier, another division bench of the Supreme Court, consisting of Justices Sapana Pradhan Malla and Shrikant Poudel, had ordered the petition to be listed for a regular hearing. Attorney General Sabita Bhandari Baral had decided to withdraw the money laundering and organized crime charges filed against Lamichhane. Senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi, along with advocates Yubaraj Poudel and Abhas Regmi, had filed separate writ petitions at the Supreme Court challenging the Attorney General's decision to revise and withdraw the cases.
