KATHMANDU, MARCH 29 The 'Zero Waste Exhibition 2026' will be held in Kathmandu on March 30–31 with the aim of promoting sustainable lifestyles and advancing circular economy practices. The exhibition is being organised by Rotary International District 3292 in collaboration with its 35 Rotary Clubs, Rotaract and Interact District 3292, and the Environmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group (ESRAG). The event will take place at the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts. The programme is supported by the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction under the Ministry of Urban Development, UN Global Compact Nepal and Environmental Camps for Conservation Awareness (ECCA), and is being organised in partnership with HECAF 360 and Blue Waste to Value. Held under the theme 'Be the Change - Reduce Waste, Reuse More, and Embrace Recycling,' the exhibition aims to encourage responsible consumption and active citizen participation in waste reduction. Around 40–50 stalls will showcase innovations in recycling, upcycling and sustainable waste management, along with live demonstrations, audio-visual presentations and interactive displays. A key highlight will be a panel discussion titled 'Beyond the Bin: Redesigning Systems for a Zero Waste Future,' bringing together policymakers, private sector representatives and environmental experts. Organisers say the event seeks to address challenges such as increasing waste generation, landfill dependency and plastic pollution through multi-stakeholder dialogue.
