Sakhi Fish Sanctuary Run held in Bardiya

KATHMANDU, MARCH 29 An 11.2-km 'Sakhi Fish Sanctuary Run' was organised in Rajapur-3, Bardiya, on Saturday to raise awareness on river conservation and aquatic biodiversity. The run, held as part of Earth Hour, followed a route symbolising the perimeter of Nepal's first fish sanctuary. It aimed to promote environmental conservation alongside a healthy lifestyle under the theme 'Run for a Healthier Planet.' In the men's category, Durga Bahadur Thapa secured first place, followed by Narendra Dani and Tek Bahadur Chand. In the women's category, Kalpana Pant finished first, with Debaki Kumari Bam and Apsara Bam Thakuri taking second and third positions respectively. The event was organised in collaboration with Sonaha Bikas Samaj, Dolphin Conservation Center and WWF Nepal, and adhered to eco-friendly practices including a strict no-plastic policy.
